Angel Accounting want to be part of your team, not just a professional you have contact with once a year who confuses you and then gives you a nasty shock about how much tax you have to pay.
Louise in particular often finds as a former bank manager, clients trust her to help and tell her all their problems. The following are examples of cases she has recently worked on.
Client A
HMRC were about to make him Bankrupt in the High Court due to an apparent tax bill of over £50k which was caused as a result of a previous advisor who had incorrectly filed Capital Gains Tax details on a tax return.
The client could not afford legal representation and the stress the family were under was immense as the family home was also in jeopardy.
Louise represented the client herself (acting as a friend) in the High Court in London. She had three appearances in front of the High Court Judge and fought her case against the Barrister employed by HMRC and had the case thrown out of court. In the end it transpired HMRC owed the client money.
Client B
This client was referred as a member of a Partnership where it transpired that the other business partner and the Partnership Accountant were in collusion to defraud HMRC of several thousands of pounds of tax.
Client B was a totally innocent (albeit naive) party and Louise was able to convince HMRC of this and have his name and professional reputation cleared completely.
Client C
A professional firm who fell under the control of a very stringent governing body who, if you fall foul of the rules, have the power to close you down.
After a major fall out with a previous Accountant, Client C needed significant help as fraud had been suggested.
Louise worked hard with the client to ensure that all involved parties including:
a) West Midlands Police
b) HMRC
c) The relevant governing body
came to the same conclusion. The allegations were based on malice and an attempt to cause trouble and had no legal grounding. After several weeks of sleepless nights, Client C can now get back on with earning a living.
Client D
A historical Manufacturing Company who had been very badly advised when they faced significant financial hardship some 18 months before meeting Louise.
At the point of appointment of Angel Accounting, HMRC were about to close down the Company and the Director was about to be handed a bill for approximately £200K from the bank as they realised their security.
Louise intervened, set in place the correct Financial Strategy which should have been implemented 2 years earlier….and the result?
39 jobs saved, a Director who no longer has the burden of a £200K second charge against his home and a company which is now looking forward to the next 100 years of manufacturing in Birmingham.
At the same time Louise also resolved a pension problem the Company Directors were facing which prevented HMRC from presenting a bill for £70K.
